What Can You Expect from the SSI Scuba Diver Course at Brothers Diving?
Online Theory – Study at Your Own Pace
Before diving in, you’ll start with the theory from home, at your own rhythm, using the My SSI App.
Here’s What You’ll Learn:
– How your scuba gear works and how to use it safely.
– How to communicate underwater without saying a word.
– How buoyancy and pressure impact your dives.
Complete this part first, and then get ready for the real fun in the water.
Confined Water – Your First Underwater Experience
This is where the fun begins: getting familiar with scuba gear in a safe, controlled environment.
In this session, you’ll learn:
– How to breathe underwater calmly and confidently (it’s easier than you think).
– How to control your buoyancy, so you don’t sink like a stone or shoot up like a cork.
– Basic safety techniques and how to handle any unexpected situation with confidence.
This is your chance to build confidence and feel comfortable before heading out to the open ocean.
Here it is, the moment you’ve been waiting for: diving into the ocean and experiencing the thrill of real scuba diving.
On two open water dives, you’ll put everything you’ve learned into practice while exploring the breathtaking underwater landscapes of Gran Canaria.

Requirements for joining the SSI Scuba Diver Course
- Be at least 10 years old.
- Be able to swim.
- Complete a medical questionnaire*. This is required to ensure you’re safe to dive.
IMPORTANT:
If for any reason you can’t attend on the reserved date, you have the option to reschedule your course at no extra cost or cancel it altogether.
A €100 fee for the purchase of SSI digital study kit is non-refundable in case of cancellation. However, this digital kit has no expiration date, allowing you to use it for the course at Brothers Diving or any other SSI affiliated centre in the future.
